Good wish list! And yeah...I was assimilated but quick! :-)

What got me was remembering that I paid three grand for a 128K Mac and external hard drive in 1984. At $599, the iPhone 1.0 does a lot more than the first Mac did a week out of the gate!

I'm not saying anything original here, but Flash support is a must, too. And I'd love to have a little more access to the file system: I want to be able to download a huge file on my iPhone when I'm at a wifi access point, then transfer it to my Mac back at my bandwidth-challenged house.

While I'm at it, I want to use my iPhone as a digital wallet for my SLR -- transfer shots in the field, view them, then transfer them to my Mac when I'm home. I wonder if some of the iPod digital cam adapters out there work with the iPhone?

And why oh why did Apple recess the headphone jack?! Must everything be a third-party opportunity? :-)

Thanks David. I'm sure Apple has a to-do list much longer that my little 6 points (they'd better). I have to keep telling myself how crappy yet simultaneously revolutionary Mac OS X v10.0 was back in the day. This release is an excellent start, and I can only imagine what future "one more things.." SJ has in store for us iPhoners.

Also, here's a great on-going iPhone "wish list" that you might find interesting.

Thanks guys! Skeuomorph... I can't believe I didn't see that Share button in Safari. I probably didn't notice it because when I tap the URL field normally I'm trying to get somewhere, not share. Since reading your comment I've used the feature 3 times. Thanks.

(1) Would be cool.

(2) The search field in Google Maps will check your contacts as well as online, so there is some integration already.

(3) You can email photos to anyone, and if the recipients address is their cell phone's email address, most carriers will turn it into an MMS message.

(4) In Safari, click the URL field, then click the Share button.

(5) Try meebo.com, iloveim.com, etc.; remember this is a thin client for Web 2.0.

(6) I'd like OTA .Mac sync, at a minimum.

I want:

(a) to be able to assign double-click of home button to go to a particular app and tab (ie, to keypad of phone, or video tab of ipod, or list view of calendar)

(b) to be able to set photo app to show photos with "best fit" to the screen

(c) OTA .Mac sync (did I mention that?)

This is a great review of the new iPhone. No sugar coating here. I can really appreciate the honesty that you put forth in this post! Hopefully Apple will get a glimpse of this article. All it can do is benefit them.
